What are the trends? We caught up with Dave Pickburn, founder and CEO at StreamTech, to ask.


Why did you partner with Mintsoft?

Businesses who are taking advantage of the continued growth in e-commerce and need to manage inventory, orders, sales and want to deliver those products to customers with their own vehicles will particularly benefit from the integration.

What challenges or trends have you seen in delivery since the pandemic?

A recent study by Dotcom Distribution showed the impact that COVID-19 has had on the e-Commerce sector and highlights just how much consumer demands.

58% have ordered online when they usually would have gone to a store. At the same time, 40% of consumers expect their order to arrive in just 1 – 2 days and leave negative reviews if they aren’t getting the service they need. Shipping is the most common cause of problems, whether that’s delays or damages, or not arriving at all, damaging the retailer’s brands.

There have been peaks in demand that have changed how retailers need to work. 

As people began planning their summer soirées and garden parties, online retailers were hit with an influx of garden furniture orders, fire pits and outdoor accessories, and associated calls to ask where the items were. This ‘ugly freight’ can cause challenges for retailers who cannot offer the same excellent service they provide for smaller items for these larger deliveries.

This one example highlights the importance of having a reliable delivery tracking system, keeping both your business and your customers up to date with where the goods are at every step of the journey.
